We are intending to run a free intensive Houdini short course, and currently looking for expressions of interest from 3D Artists who wish to learn this software for potential work in Film FX.
The course is likely to run as a free intensive 5 full day (10 -5pm) workshop in Sydney in May. There is also the possibility of an after work hour evening course, so candidates should express their availability when applying.
The course will led by industry professionals from Animal Logic’s FX team, using their extensive knowledge of the software to cover fundamental Houdini topics such as:
Basics: Software Concepts + UI (panes/tabs/navigation/nodes)
Geometry Manipulation: Points, Primitive types, Attributes, creation, deletion, procedural modelling.
Simulation: Particles, Volumes + basic solvers, copy and instancing.
Rendering: Lighting, Shading, Mantra + Geometry ROPs
Technical insights: Digital Assets, Hscript, expressions, vex + python integration
This short Houdini course is only open to applicants who already have a background in existing 3D software and ideally have experience in production work from the following or similar disciplines:
FX or 3D generalist in commercials.
Motion graphics Design.
Short form 3D production.
