We are writing to you as part of our search for an animator, or group of animators, who would be keen to work in collaboration with a director and production company to bring a short script of ours to life.Currently we are accepting expressions of interest from students attending animation schools around the world.Truce Films is a production company based in Melbourne, Australia focussed primarily on the development and production of narrative works. We have a script we feel has the potential for considerable festival success which we would like to develop into a 5-7 minute animation. We are looking for animators to collaborate with on this project. The story is about finding love in later life, and the sense of rejuvenation that can bring. This is symbolised by a longstanding drought in the world of the characters, and the surprising way that drought is broken. It is a sweet story, with strong visual elements, a comedic tone and ultimately an uplifting feel. The script is by writer/director Nicholas Clifford, whose last short film We’ve All Been There won Tropfest – Australia’s most prestigious short film competition and the largest short film festival in the world.Other short films produced by TRUCE have played successfully at festivals around Australia and the world, winning Best Film at Flickerfest Best Social Shorts Comedy for the AFI|AACTA Awards, Audience Award at the Shortlist Film Festival in LA, and the Staff Prize at the St Kilda Film Festival. Along with also featuring at festivals such as BFI London, Raindance, Palm Springs, Melbourne, Sydney and Adelaide – and having been selected for a Vimeo Staff Pick.Along with working alongside the animator/s to bring the project to life, TRUCE would also bring to the table production support including casting, post-sound design and mixing along with promoting the film through its festival life.We are set on establishing long-term relationships with talented and emerging practitioners that we can work with long in to the future. We certainly hope this to be the start of a rewarding partnership. If you have any question, please don’t hesitate to contact producer directly Michael Ciccone (firstname.lastname@example.org).
